- Preparation and presentation of monthly and yearly tax in agreement with local regulations.
- Provide accurate reporting of Portuguese earning in line with US GAAP Metlife policies
- Complete Local & US GAAP monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting within the established time frames
- Work closely with CoE (Center of Excellence) to ensure accurate reporting and controls are in place for Portugal.
- Ensure effective controls in place for Balance Sheet reporting
- Deliver transformational changes to Portugal Financial reporting and control processes
- Ensure accurate data and analysis submitted for Portugal
- Summarize results and items affecting Portugal in a clear and efficient format
- Preparation documentations to be booked on a monthly basis.
- Work on Portugal accounting team to comply with Corporate and Local reporting requirements. This involves resolving technical accounting queries/issues including agreement / communication with technical accounting Group and correct implementation in Portugal
- Support internal and external audits in relation to Portugal
- Provide support on multiple projects impacting Portugal Controller
- Conduct ad hoc reporting requirements and participate in special projects, as they arise.
competências
- Experienced accountant with significant experience in life/non-life insurance industry
- Hand-on experience in financial and management reporting
- Good working understanding and knowledge of USGAAP and Local reporting standards
- Strong analytical capability, with the ability to identify key trends in financial data
- Strong excel skills, with experience in Financial Systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience of communication to the key stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- High level of personal drive and enthusiasm
- Ability to drive continuous process improvement including the development of news processes and systems
- Good attention to detail with the ability to also look at the big picture
- Chartered accountant (TOC)
- Experience with Indirect tax reporting
