Randstad shared service center team was challenged by the global leader in the iron ore industry to search for the best possible talent for a procurement officer position.

The purpose of the Procurement Officer is to provide specialist procurement advice on a range of categories to assist stakeholders to plan, develop, source and manage procurement arrangements to effectively meet organisational and business objectives.

You'll be challenged to do your best in the following functions:
- Analyse business needs, research and compile market information, assess risks and produce a procurement plan in conjunction with the Category Team (Australia);
- Responsible for the Purchasing Process by conducting RFQs, recommending Vendors for purchases, creating and maintaining a supplier pool for the relevant business;
- Contribute to the development and lead the implementation of Category Team’s plans, procurement plans and supplier relationship management plans as required by the Category Manager/Financial Controller;
- Support the Invoice Reconciliation Process by managing the receipt of Goods and Services, and by ensuring invoices are send with the information required by the business;
- Support the Vendor Prequalification Process by being the supplier’s point of contact;
- Support the Source to Contract process providing local market knowledge, participating in negotiations and obtaining SOWs from Contract Owners;
- Contribute to the development of contract management plans, resolve issues, monitor performance and support negotiation of contract variations by developing effective supplier relationships, alongside Contract Owners in international posts and the Category Team (Australia), to enhance procurement outcomes;
- Plan and co-lead negotiations with Category Team (Australia) to establish and review supply arrangements that will deliver value for money category outcomes;
- Identify, mitigate and escalate procurement risks to enable the organisation to meet its obligations and maximise business opportunities;
- Maintain and update procurement records and generate reports on procurement and contract activity to meet organisational compliance requirements and provide access to procurement information;
- Contribute to tailoring policies and procedures for new business requirements; and
- Perform any other duties the employer may assign due to business requirements.

what you need to apply:

- Bachelor Degree in Business, Commerce, Law or Similar;
- Bilingual English - Portuguese;
- Ability to communicate and interact on all levels
- SAP and Microsoft Office experience desirable
- Past experience in a fast paced procurement managing role (preferably mining) will be a plus
- Working knowledge of functional HSES principles and practices, including Mines Act and Regulations
- Results orientated and customer focused
- Positive workplace attitude
