- Strong culture of quality
- Rebuild the underlying culture of quality to deliver a better customer experience (CX) and achieve greater operational resilience.
- Drive productivity improvements through building quality products and avoiding incident firefighting and rework, combating the temptation to trade off quality to meet productivity/efficiency expectations.
- Talk and write about quality, give publicity to quality-focused actions, celebrate achievements, encourage quality skills transfer and learning among employees, make sure employees feel quality values all around them.
- Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing team to promote our quality culture, governance and management approaches with our clients and prospects, “sell” quality.
- Collaborate and synergize with organizational stakeholders to embed quality in everything we do
- Create ways for quality-focused work to contribute to and enhance strategic focus areas, for example customer experience
- Lead continuous improvement of the Quality Management capability to enable business objectives, demonstrate tangible capability improvement results
- Drawing upon investment in Lean Six Sigma, adapt and apply Six Sigma techniques and approaches, collaborate with Continuous Improvement & Compliance team
- People leadership
- Build and develop the Quality Management team, hire and lead people.
- Provide leadership to people outside of the Quality Management team who are assigned to quality-focused tasks.
- Organize cross-functional quality assurance efforts
- As a member of the Management Team,
- Closely work with and support the other Heads-of and the CIO on various business-technology topics.
- Promote the culture of diversity and inclusion, cross-functional collaboration, open communication, leading with positivity, working hard, and having fun.
- Contribute to and drive transformation to achieve our Vivid Vision 2025.
- Help the Technology team to achieve annual Technology Imperatives
- Be a vocal advocate of Technology Vision and promoter of our digital business transformation objectives, rationales, approaches, and results
- Automation
- Automate testing and embed quality controls in the software development life cycle and CI/CD-enabled DevOps processes.
- Manage automated test case development efforts, lead a team of full-time employees and external consultants.
- Reduce the cost of quality, shorten time-to-market, increase speed of innovation, reduce waste through test automation.
- Regularly measure and report automated test coverage across products and legacy solutions and services.
- Quality control and assurance
- Strategy. Establish and articulate an effective, lean quality program, aligned with our government clients’ and customers’ views of quality, business priorities and strategic themes (such as CX and resilience).
- Metrics. Design and implement business-relevant quality metrics.
- Quality planning. Engage early, eg in project initiation and planning phases, to define testing plans and approaches, scope and plan quality work, selecting the right testing approaches and tools for each scope of work.
- Testing approaches. Evaluate and select the right testing approaches, e.g. unit testing, integration testing, functional testing, system testing, stress testing, chaos engineering, performance testing, usability testing, acceptance testing, regression testing, beta testing, source code analysis (code smell), etc.
- Talent and skills. Identify the required roles, skills, tools and practices needed to build resilient products, define required skillsets, help upskill our teams, acquire and retain the right talent.
- Vendor quality governance. Provide quality governance over outsourced/co-sourced projects and live services to ensure that our partners and vendors are applying the right quality management approaches and provide enough transparency for to ensure that the quality is managed.
- UAT. Perform user acceptance governance, ensure UAT efforts are properly planned, documented, communicated, and agreed with all relevant stakeholders.
- Cost management. Propose and justify quality-focused investments, obtain executive buy-in and approvals, deliver on promise and within financial commitment.

- 20+ years of experience in IT focusing on quality assurance
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to think outside the box, challenge the status quo, and get things done
- Strong experience with automated testing
- People leadership and team management experience
- Degree in Computer Engineering or a related field
- Certifications and track of relevant continuous learning are desired, eg Six Sigma, Lean
- Business acumen and the ability to articulate and promote business benefits of IT investments
